Sauraha is the popular town which lies in the edge of Chitwan National Park. Sauraha is also a tourist destination among foreigners and domestic tourist. Sauraha lies in the southern part of Nepal in Chitwan District of province no 3. Sauraha is the entry point of Chitwan National Park which is renowned for Jungle Safari Tour in Nepal. Sunset from the bank of Rapti river is one of the best things you can see in Sauraha.
Sauraha is only 25KM far from Narayanghat which is one of the biggest towns in Nepal. Sauraha previously was not so developed in terms of infrastructure, however, now there is plenty of good hotel in Sauraha which offer good hospitality with modern facilities.
There are plenty of Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, Shops, Spa to explore the town during your visit to Sauraha. Sauraha is in the center of everything so this destination can be your Seminar destination in terms of geographical location. Sauraha is the middle meeting point for all the participants from all over the Nepal which can save you lots of revenue along with hassle travel.
All the safari activities can be done in Sauraha which is the best factor. Either it’s Elephant Safari or Jeep Ride inside the Chitwan Nationa Park, you can book in Sauraha. Other safari activities like Jungle Walk, Elephant Breeding Center, Elephant Bathing, Tharu Culture Program, Village Tour, Tower Night Stay inside the Jungle, Bird Watching and other many more activities can be booked here in this little town which is situated nearby park.
October to April is the best time to visit Sauraha. Pleasant weather and low grass in the park is the best part of this seasons where there will be high chances to see wild animals in the park.
By Flight: 20 minutes flight from Kathmandu/Pokhara can reach the nearest Bharatpur airport. From the Airport you need to drive approx 18KM to reach Sauraha.
By Road:
Kathmandu: Daily tourist bus service is available from Kathmandu to Sauraha which leaves at 07:00 AM from Sorhakhutte. It takes approx 6 HRS to reach Sauraha.
Pokhara: Daily tourist bus service is available from Pokhara to Sauraha which leaves at 07:00 AM from Bus Station. It takes approx 6 HRS to reach Sauraha.
